Rubbermaid

“This has outlasted every roof I’ve been involved with.”

— Jim Stone, President, Jim Stone & Associates

ROOFING CHALLENGE: In 1984, the Rubbermaid facility in Statesville, North Carolina installed more than 180,000 sq. ft. of vinyl roofing. Five years later, an additional 48,000 sq. ft. was installed on a new addition. More than 30 years after these roofs were installed, Jim Stone & Associates and REI Engineers, one of the largest consulting firms specializing in building envelopes in the eastern United States, confirmed the longevity of the roofs. REI Engineers performed an infrared survey of the roof to inspect for moisture damage, and found no wet insulation due to the durability of the membrane.

The proven performance in puncture resistance, durability and moisture protection supports the longevity of the FiberTite Roofing System by Seaman Corporation. “Over the lifecycle of this roof, it was anywhere from 10 to 30 percent less expensive,” says Stone, when referring to the incremental cost savings as a result of the performance.
